Wolfgang Philipp

Wolfgang Philipp is Principal Adviser for Health and Crisis Management at DG SANTE since December 2025. In his career, he played a central role in establishing and leading the Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority, first as Acting Director and Head of Unit and later as Principal Adviser and Chief Science Officer. Earlier, he led health crisis management, overseeing preparedness, coronavirus response coordination, vaccine contracts, and work on HIV and tuberculosis policy.
